Your pod's neighbors are dark. Seven empty cradles stretch down the bay, their frost-rimed lids all standing open.

On a clipboard bolted to the pod, a handwritten note in a shaky hand reads: "Don't trust the morning chime. Go to the lower ring."

Someone has left a candle burning on the case's ledge, though the room has no windows for a draft to come through.
