Terms of Use

In short: be 13 or older (16+ in the EU and UK), follow the content policy, and you own the stories you make. Plus and Pro can be cancelled anytime; Story Packs are one-time purchases.

1. Who can use TaleQuest

You must be at least 13 years old, or 16 in the European Union, the EEA and the UK. If you are under 18, use TaleQuest with a parent or guardian's permission.

2. Content rules

You agree not to use TaleQuest to create sexual content, content sexualising minors, graphic violence, hate or harassment, real-world harmful instructions, or content that infringes someone else's rights — and not to try to get around our safety systems. The full list is in our Safety & Content Policy. We may stop a story, remove a shared page or close an account that breaks these rules.

3. Your stories

You own the text you write and, to the extent the law allows, the stories generated for you. You give us the limited permission we need to store, display and process them to run the service (and, for stories you choose to share, to show them publicly). AI output can be similar for different players, so we can't promise any story is unique.

4. Our worlds

TaleQuest's built-in scenarios, characters, art and site design are ours. Please don't use other people's copyrighted worlds or characters in stories you share publicly; generic genre mechanics (dice checks, hit points, classes) are fine.

5. AI limits

Stories are fiction written by AI and can be wrong, strange or inconsistent. TaleQuest is entertainment — not advice, not a person, and not a companion. Don't rely on it for medical, legal, financial or emotional support.

6. Plans and payments

  • Free: 30 adventure turns a day and the Daily Tale, no account needed.
  • Plus ($4.99/month) and Pro ($9.99/month): subscriptions billed monthly through Stripe. It renews automatically until you cancel; you can cancel anytime from My account and keep access until the end of the paid period. A fair-use monthly cap applies (shown on the pricing page).
  • Story Pack ($2.99): a one-time purchase of 60 extra turns and 6 illustrations, valid for 12 months. Not a subscription.
  • If a generation fails, the turn or credit is refunded automatically. If something else goes wrong with a payment, email us within 14 days. Your statutory rights (including EU withdrawal rights) are not affected.

7. Availability

We work to keep TaleQuest running but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change features, limits or prices; price changes for subscriptions apply from your next billing period, with notice.

8. Liability

TaleQuest is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months.
